Advertising Campaigns

Miu Miu

Elizabeth’s first advertising campaign was for Miu Miu‘s Spring/Summer 2014 Campaign. Joined by actresses Elle Fanning, Lupita Nyong’o, and Bella Heathcote, they’d be translating the new spirit of the Miu Miu woman “full of personality, convey their diverse points of view”.

During a call interview for Vogue, the editorial whiz, Garren, who worked with photographers Inez and Vinoodh on the campaign’s promotional shoot spoke about Elizabeth’s look for the brand:

“We tried something more medium-length on Elizabeth first for the picture, but it wasn’t working. It was too pretty, too ladylike,” he says of eventually deciding to add on a 26-inch set of extensions, then “toning the color down, taking away the blonde, making it more straight. It’s not blunt. It’s piecey and silky smooth. I was thinking of Cher in the ’70s,” he continues, offering confirmation on the Cher hypothesis. Asked to make sense of it’s weirdly powerful appeal, he pauses for a minute. “Hair that’s middle-of-the-road right now is the same as nothing hair. You either chop it off or you commit to having a look. That, to me, is what makes it modern and cool.”

April is Earth Month, and Khiel‘s kicks off every year a month-long celebration of recycling, all to benefit Recycle Across America. During their celebration, they challenge celebrities to redesign product packaging for a good cause. Elizabeth and Maggie Q were the chosen ones in 2015, and they decided on remixing Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado jar.

Elizabeth Olsen and Winona Rider go tango for H&M‘s Spring 2018 collection. The commercial was shot in Buenos Aires, featuring the two actresses – alongside models Imaan Hammam and Anna Ewers – dancing with each other after giving Olsen’s male dancing partner the boot.

“It was such a thrill to be in Buenos Aires for the H&M Spring campaign, and more importantly, to be surrounded by such a wonderful cast of strong women. The entire experience was incredibly inspiring.”

Elizabeth was featured in Bosideng‘s Holiday 2018 collection, wearing a jacket of the brand. There really isn’t much about this particular campaign, aside from details on the collection.

Bobbi Brown

Bobbi Brown Cosmetics announced in March 2019 that they had partner with three multi-dimensional women to “magnify its original ethos of celebrating individual beauty and female empowerment” with the launch of the Confident Beauty campaign. Actresses Elizabeth Olsen, Yara Shahidi, and NiNi share with “beauty truths” in hopes to inspire women everywhere. Elizabeth has since then shared her view of beauty and even made a few how-to make-up videos for social media.

“It’s incredible to be part of a brand that has been so consistent and true to its identity in an industry that’s so inconsistent. Since the 90s we have seen many trends come and go and come back again, and Bobbi Brown Cosmetics has always been a timeless brand.”
